Sunday Morning Child Care Job Description
Position: Child Care Provider
Hours: approximately Sunday morning 10:00 am – 12:30 pm; subject to change Supervisor: Child care provider is directly responsible to _____________________.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up child care space prior to children’s arrival
Parents/Guardians check child in, consent needed for snack, notification of any allergies
Provide structure for playtime activities and snack time
Follow proper diapering and handwashing procedures
Implement developmentally and culturally appropriate materials and activities
Responsible for safety of environment; monitor before, during, and after children’s arrival; report any concerns to supervisor
Check out each child to adult who signed the child in; notify adult of any concerns or incidents Clean toys as needed (mouthed toys must be washed and sanitized before next use); set up space for following week.

Positive Guidance Behavior Management
Successfully complete UMC background and reference checks, Safe Sanctuaries on-line training prior to formal hire date
Set up probationary period – suggest three months
Current CPR/First Aid for Infant and Child
Diapering and handwashing procedure training
Current Immunizations including DPT, 2 MMR, Hepatitis B series or notarized waiver, TB current within past 10 years, 2 Varicella or indication of disease (date had chicken pox); one step TB Mantoux and influenza vaccination (seasonal) recommended.
Suggest church develop check in/out procedure: simple enrollment form with consent for snack, use of church diapers, wipes etc. Parent should consent by checking each individual item that may be used on child. Space for parent to check child in and out with space for comments. These forms should be kept on file in the church office for one year.

Non-porous diaper changing surface A few extra diapers
Baby wipes, unscented
Hand sanitizer if desired for adult use only and stored out of children’s reach
Chlorine bleach and spray bottle for cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, mixed according to prescribed strengths and stored out of children’s reach.
